Dear reader,

Have you checked everything before renting your home?

Everything needs to be fixed so you can command reasonable compensation for your property.

Having a maintenance culture would increase the value of your home.

These are…

1. Focus on Basics

Basics mean a checklist of necessary things that are expected from a home.

These things include making sure the phone/internet connection is up and running, checking HVAC system is working, checking on the water pressure, making sure the smoke detectors are working, and checking the locks and making additional keys just in case.

If anything doesn’t work – replace it.

2. Get it cleaned

Giving your home a thorough cleaning is also important.

This is a rigorous process, and it involves steam drying the carpets, cleaning windows, furnishing the interior, cleaning the exterior of the house, and taking care of all the trash left behind.

The cleaning becomes really important in case you had kept pets in your house.

3. Outdoors matter

When tenants visit a house, the first thing they notice is how it looks from outside.

Therefore, as a homeowner, you need to take care of the garden by trimming overhanging trees and naturally grown weed.

Moreover, you need to clean driveways and remove any unwanted trash there.

Hopefully, you keep these tips in mind before listing your property for rental.

Thank you,

Sade Sanni, Broker of Record.
