Ontario’s latest cabinet shuffle has introduced changes across several government ministries, but for the housing and real estate sector, the key message is continuity.
Rob Flack remains Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, while Graydon Smith continues as Associate Minister. Their continued leadership means the province’s focus on housing supply, development, land-use planning and rental housing remains largely unchanged.
Stephen Crawford also remains responsible for Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement, providing continuity around real estate regulation and ongoing TRESA and RECO-related matters. Peter Bethlenfalvy remains Minister of Finance, while Doug Downey continues as Attorney General.
One notable change is David Piccini’s appointment as Minister of Infrastructure. With Ontario continuing to grow, infrastructure will remain closely connected to housing development, from transportation and utilities to the services needed to support new communities.
